Synopsis
In Sherwood Forest, Robin Hood and his band of outlaws continue to oppose the rule of the tyrannical Sheriff of Nottingham. One day a wounded traveler rides into the outlaw camp and before dying whispers something about danger in the town of Bawtry. The only clue to the mystery is a gold emblem found on the dead man's body. Consequently, when Robin notices the same emblem being worn by the Earl of Newark, he poses as a woodsman and joins the earl's group of hired archers. Aided by Friar Tuck and Maid Marian, Robin learns that the plot of the earl and the sheriff to take over Bawtry Castle has been foiled by Hubert Walter, the Archbishop of Canterbury. Aware that the two villains plan to murder the archbishop, who is traveling with Maid Marian, Robin rescues the travelers and takes them to the sanctuary of a monastery. The sheriff, blamed for the failure of the plan, is killed by one of the earl's men. The earl then invades the monastery, but he and his men all meet their deaths at the hands of Robin's band. The next morning, the departing archbishop gives his blessing to the forthcoming marriage of Maid Marian and Robin.
