Synopsis

Following the advice of Judge Bartlett, novelist Amy Spencer tells her prospective husband, Heath Desmond, that there will be no painting of nudes on Sunday and no passion in their marriage; consequently, he leaves her at the altar and disappears. As the judge is consoling Amy (though actually he disapproves of her cynical writings on love), her mother announces that Cousin Kate is arriving for the wedding. Meanwhile, Kate meets Heath on the train, and they enter into a mutual courtship; but when Kate learns that he is Amy's fiancé, she pretends that she was only flirting. When, however, she perceives that the judge and Amy are in love, she gives the judge a drug just before Amy's marriage to Heath is to be solemnized. With this development, Amy declares her love for the judge, and Heath and Kate decide on an early marriage.
