Synopsis

On the rugged coast of Maine, Caleb Gale, the keeper of the Seville light, has gone blind with age, a fact that is carefully hidden from the authorities by his daughter, Flora, who has assumed his duties. During a storm, Albert Dorn and his dog, Rin-Tin-Tin, are shipwrecked off the coast and rescued by Flora, with whom Albert soon falls in love. One dark night, Joe Dagget, a notorious bootlegger, ties up Albert and knocks out the old man, in order to extinguish the light and run a load of contraband ashore, unseen. Rin-Tin-Tin chews through the ropes that bind Albert, but Albert is soon recaptured. Though bound in chains, Albert still manages to set fire to some waste, which Rin-Tin-Tin uses to ignite the kerosene that fuels the light. When he regains consciousness, the old man frees Albert to give chase to the criminals, who have taken Flora with them. Albert and Rin-Tin-Tin fight with the criminals until the revenue officers arrive, and Albert and Flora are then happily reunited.
