Synopsis
United States postal flier Robert "Flash" Norris, who has a history of brawling, meets Lila Beaumont in court after he gets involved in a fight at a carnival. When he returns late for his flight, he is fired by his boss, George Taylor. Before he leaves the field, he sees Lila coming in to take a plane ride. Norris takes over from the pilot and performs stunts to impress Lila. He and Lila start to see each other, and he tells her bank president father John that he intends to marry her. Her father doesn't think much of fliers, and Lila talks him into giving Norris a job at the bank. Norris is not cut out for the banking field, however, and eventually ends up in the loan department with Lila's old suitor, Jim. One day, Taylor comes in looking for a loan to develop a mail pickup service from ships. Beaumont is not interested in Taylor's proposition, and an angry Norris resigns. Before he leaves, however, Baker, one of the senior officers of the bank, comes in to make a personal loan for the venture. He offers Norris cash, gets a receipt, and leaves on business to South America. The bank examiners arrive and find a loss of $10,000. When Beaumont discovers that Norris deposited $10,000, he calls him in, suspecting that he is responsible for the loss. Beaumont finds that negotiable securities are also missing, however, and believes Norris' story about how he got the money. Norris takes off in a seaplane to catch Baker. Overtaking the steamer that Baker is on via an amphibious plane, Norris boards the vessel and captures Baker. When he returns with Baker, Beaumont reconsiders his decision not to make the loan to Taylor and admits that a flier for a son-in-law would not be that bad after all. With Beaumont's blessings, Lila and Norris fly to Yuma to get married.
