Synopsis
Oxford scholar Neil Raeburn is found murdered and the Kytang Wafers, the subject of his archeological investigation, are missing. Among the victim's colleagues at the Oriental Research Institute are American physician Nelson Pollard, Oriental fellow Johnny Choto, and Englishwoman Elsa Marlowe. Although Scotland Yard Superintendent Wills first suspects the Oriental, he later learns from Elsa that Korean War veteran Pollard is secretly allied with the Kytang ambassador in London. When the diplomat attempts to slay his American associate in a judo club, Wills intervenes, arresting both.
