Synopsis

The wife of a wealthy man is taken in by a fake fortune-teller, who, after being given large sums of money, performs a séance at her home. The séance takes place during a party, and when the lights are turned out, there is a disturbance and the husband is found dead. A police captain takes on the murder case and gathers all the attendees of the séance together in one room. He finds out that the wife was unhappy with her husband and suspects that the swami who conducted the séance is a fortune-hunter who has intentions of marrying the wife for her money. He also learns that the wife of the husband's business partner was having an affair with the husband. In addition, the captain discovers that the husband prevented his daughter from marrying a criminal with whom she was in love. The police captain concludes that the killer was the husband's lawyer, who had forged the husband's signature on bonds and intended to cash them in for himself.
