Synopsis

Toy manufacturer Williams and his daughter Joan are stranded on a country road in Arkansas when their car breaks down. When they are assisted by Whitey, a farmer, they are impressed by his singing voice and bring him to the city with them. Williams signs Whitey to sing on the radio program that he sponsors and meanwhile, Whitey falls in love with Joan. His rival for her affections has him kidnapped on the eve of his broadcasting debut, and Whitey is dumped into a river. Whitey is rescued, but becomes ill and loses his voice. He regains his voice while attending the Prince's party, and the Prince and his guests are impressed by his singing. Whitey loses heart, however, when he hears Joan in a conversation in which she seems to reveal that she has only been toying with his affections. Disillusioned, Whitey returns to his farm, but Joan follows him there.
