Synopsis
Buford Ankers is the head of a family that has lived for 30 years in a riverboat stuck in the mud. The Ankers family is sheltering Mellonie, an ex-carnival worker hiding from the police. Mellonie agrees to marry Buford, but only for money; she is really in love with a fake preacher. Buford's son, Rafe, is in love with Honey Bee Heller, daughter of a family of moonshining hillbillies who have a longstanding feud with the Ankers. After a series of complications, love triumphs and the two couples are able to get married.
