Synopsis
ANGER: One peaceful Sunday, several husbands find flies in their soups. As each one accuses his wife of deliberately creating the incident, domestic squabbles erupt. The mounting anger spreads throughout the town, and eventually the whole world destroys itself in an atomic holocaust. ENVY: Rosette, a discontented chambermaid at a country inn, seduces a wealthy industrialist who is the benefactor of a movie star. When she becomes the industrialist's mistress and returns to the inn as a guest, Rosette discovers that she envies the carefree pleasures of the new chambermaid. GLUTTONY: After his father dies from indigestion, Valentin, a farmer, takes his family to the funeral. Because of numerous stops for food, they arrive too late for the services but manage to make the banquet that follows. As they gorge themselves, they contemplate future funeral banquets. LUST: Two young artists, Bernard and Paul, sit at a sidewalk cafe and visualize the passersby without clothes. They attempt to pick up a pretty girl, but their efforts are unsuccessful. LAZINESS: Actor Eddie Constantine is so lazy that when a young starlet, Nicole, tries to seduce him, he resists the offer because it would be too much of an effort to remove his clothing and dress again. PRIDE: As a young wife plans to run off with her lover, she discovers that her husband has a mistress. Outraged, she abandons her lover to defend her home against the other woman. GREED: Twenty-five cadets pool their funds and draw lots for the money to buy the services of Paris' highest paid prostitute. The winner is Antoine, a shy virgin who impresses the girl; and she returns his share of the money.
