Synopsis
July 1976, year of the heatwave. Claude, a Jew from Algeria who moved to France fifteen years ago, takes his young wife Isabella, his two sons and his stepmother to Brittany. Isabella, who caught Claude cheating on her, is the one who chose to visit, for the family vacation, the small village where she was born. The day after their arrival, two couples come to join them. At the village cafe where the men gather, many different cultures come together: Algerian-born Jews, Breton Catholics, Parisians, provincials. Bridging so many different ways of life is not easy. However, people are first and foremost human beings. And gradually, with some great humor, humanity and empathy, the old grudges from the past are forgotten, leaving room for friendship, emotions and romance.
