Synopsis

When her family meets with financial reverses, socialite Laura Hunt takes up stenography and finds work in a fashionable resort hotel, where she meets up with her former sweetheart, Maurice. Although she still cares for Maurice, Laura marries wealthy Burke Innes instead. In her husband's absence, Maurice calls on Laura late one evening and proposes they renew their affair. While Maurice is with Laura, his wife is murdered, and Maurice gallantly refuses to tell the police where he was at the time of the crime. Maurice is charged with murder and things look bad for him until Laura comes forward and tells the truth. Maurice is set free, and Burke is quickly convinced of his wife's innocence.
