Synopsis

The Kurdish Zeynel and his pregnant wife live in Diyarbakir, a town in eastern Turkey. His mother lives alone in the family home in the deserted village of Elbistan. Zeynel's elder brother Hasan joined the guerrilla movement and has not been heard from since. Their father Mustafa left for Saudi Arabia to find work, and while there, had a fatal accident. All that Zeynel has left of his father is an audio cassette. His father used to make audio tapes as a pastime. Soon, Zeynel is going to be a father for the first time and he asks his mother if there are other cassettes. She hesitates, not wanting Zeynel to change his opinion of his father.
