Synopsis
Criminal mastermind Paul Clifton executes a jewel theft in order to finance a more ambitious heist, the looting of a government mail train transporting millions from Glasgow to London. For the train robbery he recruits various specialists, and he engineers the escape from jail of convicted currency expert Robinson. After the theft the gang, anxious to divide the loot, retreats to an abandoned airfield. When Robinson phones his wife, however, the police trace his call and discover the band's whereabouts. All are apprehended but Clifton, who escapes to New York with his booty.
