Synopsis

Famous rodeo rider Tim Torrant rides into a town unrecognized. Rancher Hetch Engall bets Tim that he cannot ride his horse, Killer. Tim mounts Killer and after a short ride wins the horse, whom he eventually renames Pal. Tim takes the additional $500 worth of wagers made by Hetch and fellow rancher Hiram Olcott, and agrees to a game of poker, which he amicably loses. Hiram hires Tim to work on his ranch and track down a group of cattle rustlers. Hiram's daughter Patsy takes an immediate liking to Tim, which angers foreman Dick Stark, who believed he and Patsy had an understanding. On the ranch, Tim spies two cowboys changing a horse's brand from the "Rafter O" to the "Box R." Tim pulls his gun and escorts the men to Hiram. In the morning, the sheriff and Hiram visit Hiram's old friend, Walt Carson, the owner of the Box R. Carson's herd was shot the night before, and the rustlers captured Dick, who managed to escape. That evening, a storm breaks, and two of Hetch's men try to stampede Hetch's herd. When Dick attempts to stop them, he is shot. Wounded, Dick finds Tim and tells him that Hetch has abducted Patsy and taken her to Indian Canyon. After finding Patsy, Tim fights off Hetch and engages his men in a shootout until Hiram's men arrive and end the battle. Tim then holds Patsy safely in his arms.
