Synopsis

In 1870, adventurer Cecil Rhodes travels to South Africa to seek his fame and fortune through diamond prospecting. He has great success and comes to control the Kimberley mines, then attempts to create an even greater empire for himself. He dies just as his dream of a united South Africa is nearly fulfilled by the end of the Boer Wars. He is buried high on a mountain top, in the land that would bear his name: Rhodesia.
