Synopsis

On the eve of their wedding anniversary celebration, Felicia and Alexander Brett quarrel bitterly over his insistence that a certain Rita Rogers be invited; despite her refusal, Rita appears among the quests and Felicia pointedly ignores her presence. When her husband's tyranny becomes intolerable, Felicia takes her 4-year-old son, Bobby, and leaves for Reno to obtain a divorce. En route, she meets Dick Belden, a former sweetheart. In Reno they are met by Tom and Ann Hodge, with whom she is to live, and J. B. Berkley. During a luncheon given for Lola Fealey, Lola excuses herself to call Brett, with whom she is conspiring to frame Felicia. By a ruse involving young Bobby, Felicia is placed in a compromising situation, and Brett brings suit to obtain custody of the child. To regain custody of Bobby, Felicia agrees to visit Brett, but Rita exposes the conspiracy in a moment of anger. Brett attempts to kidnap Bobby but is killed in an automobile chase.
