Synopsis
The Philippines, 1945. One of the last Japanese forces in the South Pacific receives orders to obtain for transport back to Japan a shipment of gold bullion stored at an island convent. The Japanese take over the convent, making virtual prisoners of the nuns and convent girls. Kermit Dowling, an American officer, and ex-convict Gaudiel lead a group of native guerrillas against the Japanese. Gaudiel, accompanied by demolition experts, infiltrates the convent and is attracted to Sheila, an American the nuns have been hiding and whom the Japanese are anxious to find. Soon, fighting breaks out between the two forces; initially repulsed, the guerrillas defeat the Japanese and save the gold.
