Synopsis

A portrait of singer-songwriter Blaze Foley who met an unfortunate end at only 39 years old. He lived a turbulent life, filled with sufficient amounts of alcohol and drama to provide material for his songs. Foley wrote and performed songs, but his big break never came. Foley's greatest triumph was that country star Merle Haggard admired his skill as a lyricist and made a hit out of his song "If I Could Only Fly." This colorful rebel was born in a tree house, killed in his friend's living room, and thrown out of his own funeral, making him a bonafide Texas legend.
