Synopsis

A portrait of Mark Sandman, the singer, bassist, writer, composer and founder of the 1990s band, Morphine. Sandman left an indelible imprint as one of the most distinctive musicians of his generation. His band's raw mix of jazz, blues and rock, allowed them to create a totally unique sound that brought them cult status in the United States and Europe from the early 1990s on. In addition to focusing on the singular nature of Sandman's music, we get an intimate look at Sandman's personal history. The loss of his two brothers appears to have been a decisive moment in his musical development, and is a subject that also sheds new light on the trio that were Morphine.
