Synopsis

An expose of how Pacific Islanders are struggling for survival after decades of top-secret nuclear tests conducted on them by the U.S. government in preparation for the envisaged nuclear conflict with the Soviet Union. Documentary filmmaker Adam Jonas Horowitz first visited the Marshall Islands in 1986 when he was making his first film "Home on the Range." When he returned to the islands in 1990 as a Greenpeace activist, he was unsettled by what he found there: radioactive coconuts, leaking nuclear waste repositories and densely populated slums. Here, Horowitz documents in detail the nuclear destruction and the aftermath of the human experimentation.
