Synopsis

A self-portrait from documentary filmmaker Ibtisam Mara'ana that focuses on her relationship with Jonathan, a Canadian-born Jewish immigrant. Ibtisam leaves her Arab-Muslim village and moves to Tel-Aviv where she meets Jonathan. They are both newcomers to the city, far from the familiar and their families. Searching for a sense of belonging, together they try to create a new identity in a increasingly racist and xenophobic Israel. While Ibtisam struggles with her Palestinian identity in the shadow of the 2009 Gaza war, Jonathan grapples with his Jewish identity and Zionist dream.
