Synopsis
An Iraqi family has to move from the more fertile area of Nothern Iraq to the South, because the father has found work at an oil plant. Sahand is five years old. Shortly afterwards, the Iraq war starts. Sahand is home alone with his other, who gets killed by a bomb. He survives, and is severely traumatized. His father is overwhelmed and drops Sahand and his older sister off at their grandfathers'. There, in a quiet, peaceful setting, the boy is supposed to heal. However, Sahand has a hard time and gets bullied by the other children in the village. During a day trip to a lake, he discovers a wild goose that was hurt by a bullet. Her feathers remind him of the white dress that his mother was wearing on the day of her death. Although his grandfather forbids him to take care of the goose, Sahand escapes to look for her.
