Synopsis
After the Civil War, a group of veterans and ex-Confederate mercenaries led by Sergeant Will Hansen leave Texas and go to South America. Upon arrival, they are ambushed by soldiers of the ruthless dictator General Martinez who sends them to the town of San Carlos to spy on the rebels who are plotting to overthrow him. On their way, they meet a gypsy family and Will falls in love with the daughter, which leads to tragedy and causes the gang to disobey the general's orders to report back to him. Furious, Martinez finds Will and hangs him, and Will's friends get their revenge by joining the rebels and killing Martinez.
