Synopsis
Eleven-year-old Skunk spends her summer afternoons daydreaming and wandering around her neighborhood until she sees her neighbor, Mr. Oswald, savagely beating a psychologically-troubled boy whom Mr. Oswald's daughter has falsely accused of rape. Skunk's innocence begins to vanish. She looks for solace with her loving nanny and her father, but is unwittingly drawn into her neighbors' unfolding melodrama of violence, sex and life-shattering illness. Overwhelmed by her experiences, Skunk herself is drawn into an ethereal chaos from which she may only return through the intense love of those closest to her.
