Synopsis
A portrait of Winfred Rembert, an artist who creates autobiographical paintings depicting the day-to-day existence of African Americans in the segregated South, Though Rembert lived through segregation and the civil rights era in the Deep South, he did not become an artist until the 1990s. Working on cured leather canvases that are later painted, Rembert depicts a personalized form of US history that you cannot find in any library.
