Synopsis
Joseph Smith Jr. was only twenty-one years old in 1827 when he received a prophetic calling to translate ancient scriptures that would soon be published as the Book of Mormon. Less than three years later, he founded The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which today has 14 million followers and is the fourth largest religious denomination in the United States. The film follows Joseph's early adult years and portrays the events that led up to the publishing of the Book of Mormon and the founding of a new worldwide church.
