Synopsis
The "Sira" is the most important epic poem of the Arab world, consisting of five million verses and contains timeless stories of war, love and peace. This monumental work has been handed down orally across generations. Here, we follow the last living Sira interpreter, 75-year-old Egyptian Sayyed el-Dawwy, as he attempts to teach his grandson Ramadan the importance of this oral tradition. However, the challenge is that el-Dawwy is illiterate, so Ramadan must record his grandfather.
