Synopsis

Payaguala, a native Tehuelche, leads a simple life in a remote cabin somewhere in Patagonia. Though he spends most of his time working the land, he makes a living playing music and selling his artisanal works at an inn frequented mostly by tourists. One day he receives a package from the Ministry of Social Development: a television set powered by solar energy. The first images he sees are that of Charlie Chaplin's 1940 classic, "The Great Dictator". This is followed by images of all kinds scrolling across the screen which upset Payaguala. Then suddenly, the transmission fails. Payaguala eventually returns to his previous lifestyle and the television becomes relegated to a chicken coop.
