Synopsis
Middle-aged Joan leads a dreary life---she has a dull job, and at home, she looks after her ailing elderly mother. Her only positive pastime is singing in the solitude of her room. It turns out Joan has an amazing singing voice which no-one ever hears. That is, until Joan is overheard singing by Pat, her mother's visiting nurse. Pat persuades Joan to join a women's choir and share her voice with the world. However, complications ensue when Joan, struggling with her Catholic faith and suffering from stage fright, drops out of the choir just before the big LGBT music festival.
