Synopsis
Between 1975 and 1979, the Khmer Rouge regime caused the death of some 1.8 million people in Cambodia. Kaing Guek Eav, known as Duch, directed the M13, a Khmer Rouge-controlled prison, for four years before becoming the head of S21. For the S21, he commanded the Khmer Rouge slaughter from 1975 to 1979 in which some 12,380 Cambodians met their deaths. In 2009, Duch became the first leader of the Khmer Rouge organization to be brought before an international criminal justice court. In July 2010, he was sentenced to 35 years in prison. While Duch waits for a new trial, he met with documentary filmmaker Rithy Panh who questioned him in depth.
