Synopsis
Chronicles the disappearance of darkness. When documentary filmmaker Ian Cheney moves into his New York apartment and climbs atop his Brooklyn rooftop to survey the night sky, he discovers he can only see five stars because of the glow from the streetlights. What begins as a disappointing autumn evening becomes a journey to answer a simple question: what do we lose, when we lost the night? Blending cutting edge-science and real human stories, we gain a greater understanding of the environmental implications of artificial light on our health and our planet.
