Synopsis
Three stories take place during the Sri Lankan Civil War. In the first, a Sinhalese village girl falls in love with a soldier and becomes pregnant. When her father is recruited into the civil defense force, it leads to tragedy for him and his daughter. In the second story, a recently widowed mother of eight does her best to support her children during the war and has an affair which infuriates her eldest son. In the last story, a Tamil schoolgirl is caught up in the conflict when soldiers in the separatist army demand money from her family and threaten to conscript the girl if they don't pay.
