Synopsis

Twelve-year-old Nina enjoys her time in the country where she can pursue her passion for flies, which she lovingly uploads images of to the Internet. When her father gives her a cellphone with a built-in video camera, she begins to secretly capture fragments of life around her. If pieced together, they could tell a story of money, adultery, personal and professional bankruptcy that the others are trying to hide from her. Nina's mother Sophie has recently become bedridden from a traffic accident. Nina's father Cedric hopes to revive Sophie's memory through fragments shot on Nina's cellphone. Through the imagery Nina captures, the messiness of her petit bourgeois parents' personal and financial life becomes apparent. Under the influence of Arnold, a wealthy gambler who has charmed Sophie, her parents borrow heavily in the hope of financial success. But their incompetence, exacerbated by the sub-prime crisis, derail their scheme, resulting in a succession of tragic accidents.
