Synopsis
1989. Alois is a middle-aged dispatcher who works at a small railway station in the Sudeten, the mountainous region along the Czech borders with Germany and Poland. With news of the Berlin Wall being dismantled on the radio, Alois shuffles around the station with a grim expression on this face, looking as if he has seen it all. But as fog and rain consume the station, he finds himself haunted by the past, in particular, the events at the end of the Second World War. Tortured by these memories, he ends up in a sanatorium. When he is released, he discovers a changed world where the communist regime has evaporated along with his job. But hope soon arrives in the form of a woman.
