Synopsis

Film combines archival newsreel images of Nazi Germany and newly shot b&w footage to relate the story of a handsome young teenager who travels from the countryside to see the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin. En route, he meets and falls in love with a wealthy 36-year-old widow, but eventually moves to Berlin where, after being reduced to beggary and petty crime, he receives a lengthy jail sentence upon being caught in bed with an SS officer.
