The Million Eyes of Su-Muru

1h 35m 1967

Brief Synopsis

Frankie Avalon and George Nader (that guy from "The Robot Monster") are a couple of wise-cracking, swingin' secret agents. Their enemy is Shirley Eaton as Su-Muru, who plans to remove all of the men who are currently in power and replace them with her army of women, most of who are shown in skimpy (for 1967) bikinis or mini skirts, and who can all perform complex tasks such as break a man's neck with their thighs. Avalon and Nader make "friends" with several members of Su-Maru's army, then invade with the local army and kill the rest of them.

Synopsis

The security chief of the small Asian country of Sinonesia is murdered in Italy, and Colonel Baisbrook of British Intelligence persuades Tommy Carter and Nick West, two Americans, to assist in the investigation. They discover that behind the killing is a world-wide organization of women plotting the enslavement of mankind. Led by the beautiful and sadistic Su-Muru, the women plan to assassinate Sinonesia's President Boong. After finding a dead woman in Nick's hotel bed, the two men, suspecting a frameup, flee to Hong Kong to warn President Boong. Su-Muru's assistants follow them, however, and Nick is abducted and taken to the organization's island headquarters. Forced into cooperating, Nick poses as Boong's new security chief and introduces the president to Helga, one of Su-Muru's executives, whose job is to carry out the assassination. Helga has a change of heart, however, and another woman uses the deadly gun which turns the victim into stone. Once it is learned that the dead man is Boong's double, Helga appeals to Tommy for help, while Nick is taken back to Su-Muru's torture chambers. Tommy and Helga win the aid of the Hong Kong police against Su-Muru's army. During the ensuing battle, Tommy rescues Nick just before Su-Muru's island is destroyed by a hugh explosion. Colonel Baisbrook congratulates the men on their accomplishment and reveals that Tommy is actually a British secret agent.

Trivia

According to director Lindsay Shonteff in a 1994 interview, Klaus Kinski had numerous ideas for unusual behavior exhibited by his character President Boong, including that whenever someone entered a room where he was he would climb out from underneath a huge pile of cushions and that whenever he was talking to a pretty girl an abnormally long tongue would emerge from his mouth and try to lick her face. Sadly none of these made the final cut, but if you watch carefully you can see his tongue starting to come out in some scenes.
