Synopsis

Charlie Mason, proprietor of a nearly bankrupt modiste shop, takes his models to the beach to divert their minds from unpaid salaries. There he becomes reacquainted with Wilbur Louder, his cousin from Iowa, who with his wife and mother-in-law has come to the city to celebrate his silver anniversary. Taking advantage of Wilbur's weakness for pretty girls, Charlie plots to have the girls separate him from some of his money. He is particularly flattered by one girl named Camille; and when Charlie asks him out that night, their destination proves to be the Cafe Royal, where Wilbur is pleased to see the girls awaiting his arrival. Learning of the party, his wife decides to teach him a lesson and invites Camille to a surprise dinner party, seating her next to Charlie. He becomes inebriated and unwittingly exposes his plotting; Wilbur threatens to kill himself, but all is resolved when his wife forgives him.
