Synopsis

While visiting their respective relatives at San Sebastian hospital, two women, Axun and Maite, reconnect some fifty years after their childhood friendship. Although their lives have gone in very different directions--Axun is a farmer's wife and Maite is a world renowned musician--their friendship bond proves to be strong. Axun's husband becomes irritated that his wife's visits to their ex-son in law (who is in a coma) leaves him home waiting for his dinner one time too many. But with Maite, Axun feels she is reclaiming a more spontaneous and joyful self she thought was lost. Although she has not been hiding it, when Maite states explicitly that she is a lesbian, Axun's discomfort is palpable. Axun is forced to grapple with the gulf between her burgeoning desire for Maite and her lifelong marital obligations.
