Synopsis
The excitement of a two-day rodeo sparks intense competition between the Circle B and Bar A ranches. Aunt Sarah, the owner of the Bar A, bets heavily on her nephew, Bob Allen, to win the contest, while Jim Bond of the Circle B bets on his ranch hand, Luke Williams. Because Bob is last year's champion, he is favored to win two to one, and when the pot reaches $20,000, outlaws Trigger and Sands realize that they can make a fortune if Bob loses. They approach Bob with a bribe to fix the contest, but he refuses and quickly moves into the lead. Determined to pocket the prize money, Trigger and Sands kidnap Bob and imprison him in a secluded cabin. As the men of the Bar A scour the countryside looking for Bob, Bond, in a spirit of fair play, asks the judges not to disqualify him. On the second day of the rodeo, the judges are on the verge of disqualifying Bob when he overpowers his captors and gallops back to the rodeo. Luke and Bob are now tied for first place, with the bucking bronco contest to determine the winner. When Bob wins the contest and is declared champion, Trigger and Sands decide to steal the pot and hold up Hawks' Tavern, where the money is being held. Bob gallops off after them, and after apprehending the thieves, turns the winnings over to Aunt Sarah. The money remains in the Bond family, however, when Bob proposes to Bond's daughter Betty and the families are joined.
