Synopsis
THE JUNIOR CLERK'S TEMPTATION: Tired by the monotony of his business and social life, a shy junior clerk decides to spend all of his savings on a night on the town. Although he goes to a movie, a dancehall, and several nightclubs, no one pays him the slightest attention. Finally, he meets a girl who suggests that she and her friends have a party in his apartment. The clerk agrees, and after the party, he is delighted to find the girl in his bed, but she is asleep before he can join her. He arrives late for work the next morning and returns to his boring life. ANASTASIA'S DREAM: While working as a maid in an elegant home, Anastasia is attracted to a handsome singer giving a recital and follows him when he leaves the house. Although the singer fails to notice her, she attracts the attention of a medical officer who invites her into his carriage and then makes immediate plans to marry her. Anastasia panics and boards a train, where she sees a guitar-playing gypsy who motions for her to approach him. Suddenly Anastasia awakens from her daydream: she is a waitress in a railway dining car. ORPHAN RUDOLPH'S ADVENTURE: Rudolph, an orphan, looks over a fence at a garden party, and the drunken guests invite him to join the festivities. Treating him as an old friend, they outfit him with a beautiful new suit, and when the party ends, Rudolph promises an attractive young girl that he will return. When he does so the next morning, there is no sign of the girl, his friends, or the garden.
