Synopsis

In 1955 Parisian actor Claude Langmann is drafted into the French Army and forced to leave Tania, his ballerina girl friend. Through a friend, Claude obtains a Paris assignment; but he is soon transferred to one of the provinces, and there he and his new friends are trained by a Corsican adjutant. Claude is given special privileges because he claims to have a friend who knows Brigitte Bardot. He is then assigned as a medic to Morocco, where the Arabs are rebelling against French rule. There, Claude declares all of his friends medically unfit because of various imaginary illnesses. Claude writes to Tania from Algeria to break off their affair, and he returns to Paris when he finishes his tour of duty.
