Synopsis

Jimmy Farnsworth bets his friend George Van Horne $5,000 that he can get any two people under the proper environment to fall in love and become engaged within a month. The two he chooses are young society girl Betty Duncan and Peter Darby, a dashing electrician who comes to her house and secretly agrees to pose as a society man at Jimmy's estate. The star-crossed Peter falls in love, however, with Joan Bently, Jimmy's fiancée; while at the same time, Marie, the maid, and vampish Louise Endicott become fascinated with Peter, to Jimmy's dismay. Disturbed by Louise's torrid advances, Peter threatens to resign his part of the agreement; and to complicate matters, Betty falls in love with the butler. Jimmy exposes Peter as an electrician, but Joan nevertheless accepts his proposal and all ends happily, at least for Joan and Peter.
