Synopsis
After sixteen years of formal engagement, playboy Charles Browne leaves New York City and returns to his hometown fiancée, Caroline Burt. When Charles sees Caroline, who has neglected her own needs to take care of her brother's children, he is startled by her haggard appearance and is soon attracted to her young niece Zelda. Charles allows the flirtatious Zelda to lure him to a roadhouse and quickly becomes engaged to her. Devastated with rejection, Caroline leaves her small town and moves in with a friend in the city. With the encouragement of her friend, Caroline determines to win back Charles and undergoes a beauty treatment that transforms her into a stunning, rejuvenated beauty. When she returns to her hometown, she pursues Zelda's young fiancé, whom Zelda had rejected for Charles, and easily wins his heart. Jealous and ashamed, Zelda returns to her former fiancé, while Caroline finally makes good on her old marriage claim.
