Synopsis

When three beggars Suskewiet, Pitje Vogel and Schrobberbeeck get tired of struggling in poverty, they decide to sing the Epiphany on Christmas Eve. Their plan turns out to be a success as they end up singing themselves rich. On the way back to the pub, however, they get lost in the woods and end up witnessing the birth of Little Baby Jesus. Touched by this miracle, they give away all their gifts. When Christmas comes around the following year, they sing again. But puzzled by last year's experience, they start to quarrel and their friendship falls apart.
