Synopsis

Saloon keeper Jim Fletcher is the chief of a ruthless band of gunmen in Baker City. When Willard McGowan, the town banker and head of the Baker City underworld, learns that Fletcher's men have beaten William Norton, owner of the JN Ranch, for not selling his property at half-price, he tells Fletcher to keep away from Norton. Fletcher ignores the warning and sends his men after Norton again, this time holding him up and stealing his money belt. Soon after arriving in Baker City, Chuck Saunders, foreman of the JN Ranch, meets Marion, McGowan's adopted daughter, and captures Fletcher's gunmen. When McGowan tries to fire Fletcher for going against his orders, Fletcher threatens to reveal the truth about Marion--that she is really Norton's daughter who was abducted from a stagecoach as a child by McGowan during a robbery. Fletcher shows McGowan a watch belonging to Marion's mother as proof that he can back up his story. Saunders, who suspects that Fletcher was involved in the Norton holdup, follows him to his office, where he makes an attempt to retrieve Norton's money. While Saunders has Fletcher at gunpoint, McGowan enters through a window and makes off with the watch belonging to Marion's mother. The marshal goes in pursuit of Saunders but Norton's money belt is found with McGowan. After McGowan lies to the marshal about the money, Saunders is arrested for the theft. When Marion overhears Saunders talking to one of his gunmen about her identity, she realizes that she is, in fact, Norton's daughter. Norton is soon reunited with his daughter and his money belt and returns to his ranch. Saunders, it is indicated, will be Marion's new sweetheart.
