Synopsis

Bill Roberts is arrested for the murder of Blane, despite protests from his young friend Andy and the fact that he is innocent. Judge Hanley has framed Bill and, aware that Blane's body is missing, decides to hold an immediate trial after Bill's friends vow to get him a fair trial. Bill's buddies help him escape from the courtroom so he can prove his innocence and then help Andy and his sister Laura, with whom Bill is in love, leave unharmed. As Bill's sister's death was caused by Hanley, also known as Cotter, the law of the north says Bill must settle the score. Andy tries to lead the posse away from Bill by sending them to Laura's ranch, unaware that Bill is actually there. While Bill hides in the attic, Hanley and Laura play cards to decide the outcome of their predicament, agreeing that if Laura draws the high card, he will forget everything, but if he wins, she will reveal Bill's hiding place. After Hanley wins, Bill jumps out and fights Hanley, while outside, Hanley's men and Bill's friends engage in a gunfight. Blane appears, very much alive because Hanley missed when he shot him, and shoots Hanley. Laura and Bill then agree to marry.
