Synopsis

Cheyenne Davis and his sidekick, Fuzzy Q, Jones, who have come to the lawless town of Temecula to prospect for gold, rescue the wounded driver of a stagecoach that has just been robbed. The assailants are the Decker gang, who have taken over Temecula. Jane Hilton, who runs a general store with her father, is making preparations to relocate the business because of the gang. When Jane refuses to sell ammunition to gang member "Lefty," he tries to steal it, but is stopped by Cheyenne, who makes him pay. As Lefty empties his pockets, Cheyenne notices he is carrying rings stolen during the stagecoach holdup and begins an investigation of the Decker gang with the sheriff of nearby Hagerstown. Lefty, who is wanted for the robbery, tries to shoot Cheyenne, but is instead taken hostage by him. After being held prisoner for days, with Fuzzy as his constant guard, Lefty starts to lose his nerve and thinks he has gone crazy. Cheyenne finally releases Lefty's horse in order to learn the location of the Decker hideout, then returns the rings to Lefty and allows him to leave on foot, causing Decker to believe he and Cheyenne are now in cahoots. Later, in a saloon, Decker and his men try to force Fuzzy to lead them to Cheyenne. Cheyenne arrives with the sheriff, who announces that Cheyenne is really a United States Marshal and has given the sheriff and his men jurisdiction over Temecula. Cheyenne quickly disarms Decker with his whip and forces Lefty to turn over the rings before he and the gang are arrested. Cheyenne then decides to stay in Temecula with Jane.
