Synopsis
After years of unsuccessful fertility treatments, Lisa and Brian Switzer will do just about anything to have a baby. Unable to afford a surrogate stateside, they decide to outsource their pregnancy halfway around the world to India. With the help of an American-based baby broker, Lisa and Brian navigate through India's unregulated womb trade until they are matched with a Muslim woman named Aasia. An iliterate, poor mother of three, Aasia is willing to endure her husband's disapproval and the strains of pregnancy for the right price. As her delivery date nears, both ethical and political conflicts come to an unexpected head.
