Synopsis
The abandoned mansions and opulent villas of Garden City used to be an exclusive neighborhood that housed the ruling elites in Cairo, Egypt. This once elegant area is increasingly encroached upon by ubiquitous highrise apartment buildings and the prison-like architecture of the U.S. and Canadian embassies. While avoiding easy nostalgia, we get a look at the complex historical relationship between humans and archictecture that is both allegorical and a serious critique of the present.
