Synopsis

Barry Holmes, a song writer who lives in a New York boardinghouse, is struggling day and night to finish a new song, and his neighbor, Ruth Morgan, who works in a music publishing house, agrees to help him with it. Mr. Langley, their landlord, finding them together in Barry's room, orders them to vacate the premises, threatening to keep the piano as payment for back rent, though his son Max offers to help them rescue the instrument. Music publishers Kemple and Klucke agree to take the song if the lyrics are good, but Barry is in despair when the piano is accidentally wrecked. Max gives them entry to the piano factory at night, and unsuspectingly they broadcast the song and become an overnight success. Parker, the radio station owner, finally finds Ruth, who auctions off the song, with Klucke's firm closing the sale, and the lovers are happily united.
